For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence,
for my hope is from him.
He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God.
Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your heart before him;
God is a refuge for us.
(Psalm 62:5-8 ESV)
God places us securely in the "cleft" of the rock when storms come and winds blow. With our trust being in God we do not have to worry that our circumstances will steal our joy or destroy our peace. God, and God alone, is the only one who can provide this for us.
This week you and I have a choice to make. Will we place our hope in God and wait on him or will we place it in ourselves and/or our situation?
